Why 'Made For Health'?

I am an acupuncturist. In my practice, I see people with health problems ranging from depression and anxiety to Crohn's disease to ALS. Because of my interest in natural health, I try to approach every patient as unique, and choose to focus on the body's innate drive to move to health--if we will just get out of its way.

I'm also a Christian. A Christian who takes the Bible literally, and believes it was inspired directly by God out of His love for us.

This blog is not dedicated to proving my religious beliefs, or arguing with others about their beliefs. But I wanted to test a hypothesis: if God is all-knowing and benevolent, and if the Bible is His communication with us, shouldn't the instructions in the Bible benefit us in every way--physical health included?

So I began a list of everything I knew was an instruction in the Bible and could have a relationship to health. Filling the list out is the work of this blog. While there are plenty of specific health instructions--foods to eat, substances to avoid, quarantine laws, etc.--I do not want to focus there. Others have written on those subjects. I wanted to work on the things we think of as more spiritual--how thinking on positive things benefits us, how forgiveness heals our body and our heart, how believing in a purpose greater than yourself can make you whole.

I know many people will not share my beliefs. As I said, I'm not trying to convert anyone--and please don't troll the comments--I long for interesting discussion,  but will delete comments that are hateful or offensive. But so far, I have found a treasure trove of information on hidden health benefits of belief, and I believe I will find many more.

The God I worship is the spirit genius that created all of us because He loves us. This blog is dedicated to shining a small light on some of His blessings.
